Totem

J’ai déjà écrit que Vancouver était ma ville préférée. Les totems et l’art indien en général m’ont fascinée. J’ai découvert la symbolique qui se cache derrière leur représentation des animaux. Les couleurs utilisées sont aussi très gaies, et j’aime ça ! Voilà une photo d’un des mâts de totem les plus connus de Vancouver, dans le parc Stanley. Pour approfondir une visite, passez au musée anthropologique sur le campus de l’université UBC… ou mieux, si vous en avez la chance, rencontrez un des artistes qui travaillent encore dans les traditions de la côte Nord Ouest.

Ho già scritto che Vancouver era la mia città preferita. I totem e l’arte indiano in generale mi hanno affascinata. Ho scoperto la simbolica che si nasconde dietro la loro rappresentazione dei animali. I colori utilisati sono anche molto allegri, e questo mi piace! Ecco una foto di uno dei pali di totem più conoscuti di Vancouver, nel parco Stanley. Per approfondire una visita, passi al museo antropologico sul campus dell’università UBC… o meglio, se ne hai la fortuna, incontri uno dei artisti chi lavorano ancora nelle tradizioni della costa nord ovest.

I already wrote that Vancouver was my favorite city. Totems and Indian Art in general fascinated me. I discovered the symbolism that is hidden behind their representation of animals. The colors used are also very cheerful, and I like it! This is a picture of one of the totem poles most famous in Vancouver, in Stanley Park.
